A little about me: I decided I wanted to be a teacher when I was six and worked for that goal ever since.  Portland is where I was born and raised.  I love living here!  I graduated from Concordia University, Portland and started teaching at Woodmere.  While I worked at many different schools in high school and college, all of my years as a teacher have been at Woodmere.  This will be my 18th year.  I love the diversity and community feel of Woodmere.  We have amazing students and staff and I feel blessed to be a part of it.  One of my favorite things is teaching siblings of former students.  I love to keep in touch and see where life has taken the kids.  It’s also fun to teach kids I’ve known since they were tiny.  I think creating relationships with parents and their families is a key ingredient in a child’s success.  I have taught first through fourth grade, with some blends mixed in.  Every grade has something special that I enjoy.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family outdoors and traveling.  My husband, Patrick, and I have two daughters, Brooklyn (13) and Kailee (11).  Both got to experience some of our amazing teachers as students at Woodmere.  We love going to the beach, hiking, snorkeling, boating, bike rides, and all things Disney.  I also love volleyball.  I have played or coached volleyball for over 30 years.
